Located between 280 and 330 meters of altitude, the Corton Charlemagne has a South-East aspect which is rare along the Côte. The Corton hill is shared by the villages of Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix-Serrigny. In 775, Emperor Charlemagne donated this plot to the Saint-Andoche Abbey in Saulieu. The Corton Charlemagne appellation, recognized in 1937, is made of the Climats “Charlemagne” and “En Charlemagne”.
