The pride of Piedmont: Barbera d’Alba Superiore is a wine you simply can’t go wrong with. Made with 100% Barbera, it is first fermented in stainless steel before being aged for one year, with a period is larger wooden barrels, before being moved to smaller ones. This aging period helps Barbera to develop a warmer character and soften its edges. Before it is released it spends another 5-6 months in the bottle. The final result is a ruby red wine with garnet reflections, a fruity aroma with dark cherry leading, followed by toast and spicy notes of cinnamon and vanilla. It is a perfect balance of refreshing acidity and warm alcohol. This wine is always a pleaser, to be enjoyed on its own as an aperitivo or with aged cold cuts and cheeses, especially good with grilled and smoky dishes.
